I is for International

St Pancras International is where we’ve caught the Eurostar when travelling by train from London to Europe. I think it’s wonderful to be able to get on a train at St Pancras, and a couple of hours later step out either at the Gare du Nord in Paris, or Brussel Midi in the beautiful capital city of Belgium.

I’ve always loved train travel, so tend to be very fond of the main stations that facilitate it, too. The late and much-loved Poet Laureate Sir John Betjeman also loved train travel, and his statue stands expectantly on the upper concourse at St Pancras, looking steadily upwards as if seeking inspiration from on high…

My theme for this year’s April A-Z Challenge is ‘My London A-Z’. I’ve found living in London to be very different from just visiting; in general I live a very ordinary life far removed from the craziness of the city itself, so I thought it might be fun to share my everyday experience with you all in images and words…

    • I’d really like to travel across Europe on the Orient Express, but unfortunately money is a bit of a barrier to that particular train journey…!
