Tonight I tried cheese and tomato ice-cream for the first time, and it was surprisingly nice! We were out at our favourite family-owned local Thai restaurant, and after our meal the owner’s son, who is in the process of taking over the bulk of the cooking from his dad, came out with a small dish of ice-cream for us to try.
He’s always experimenting with new flavours to introduce to the menu, and tonight’s taster was certainly very different. It was a pale creamy-yellow cheese-flavoured ice-cream with small pieces of delicately candied tomato mixed through it – a bit like a rich cheesecake filling to taste, and the candied tomato was a very pleasant addition – yum! 🙂
