I think I may feel forever connected to this beautiful Scottish landscape; the backdrop to my childhood, the scene of my young adulthood. The closest building on the right-hand side set within the yellow of the fields was the small country Primary School I attended between the ages of 5 and 12, although these days it is a private nursery for pre-school children.
And the village you can only just make out, right in the centre of the image at the base of the hills, is where I lived and brought up my children a long time ago. Although not all memories of my life in this part of the world are good, nevertheless I always walk up here when I go home to visit my parents, who still live in the same house I grew up in. Whatever the time of year I love to see the view from this particular vantage point, day or night.
Inevitably with the passing of time some things have changed and some have stayed the same, but somehow, whether I like it or not, this is the place that always feels to me like coming home… 🙂
