Seasons

Seasons

I love to feel the rhythm of a year

As seasons change from month to month with ease

New life springs early, green shoots first appear

Soon daffodils bob brightly in the breeze

As summer’s warmth brings blossoms by the score

We flourish too, and wander, brown limbs bare

While flowers heavy-headed bloom once more

And fill our hearts with sweet rose-scented air…

But autumn beckons, turning leaves to gold

Fruit ripens, crops fresh-harvested from fields

As winds blow wilder temperatures grow cold

To winter’s frosts the earth begins to yield

Then slumbering ‘til springtime’s magic wakes

All nature rests again ‘til new earth breaks…
