I feel as if the pungent smell of fresh paint has been stuck in my nose for ages – but then, in a way it has. We’ve been redecorating our flat for the last few months, slowly but surely – first painting the external rendering, then the front door and all the windows inside and out, the radiators, and now we’re painting all the internal woodwork.
The main reason it’s taking us so long is that we’re doing it all ourselves, while both working in quite tiring non-sedentary jobs – and sadly we’re neither of us getting any younger. Plus as we only have a one-bedroom property, there’s nowhere to put anything out of the way, so we’re constantly having to work around all our furniture and belongings.
Once all the painting is completed, we then have to re-paper the newly re-plastered walls in our living room – but I’m sure it’ll look good once it’s all finished, so will be well worth the effort when we’re done… and the pungent smell of paint can once more be a thing of the past! 🙂
