I’ve walked past this bush so many times, and have often wondered what it might be. Today as I walked past there was someone working in the garden, so I asked what the flower was? Apparently it’s a quince bush, it grows a fruit similar to a lumpy apple, and traditionally quince jelly would be made with the fruit. This particular bush is at least 70 years old, as the owner says it’s been there since he was a youngster,  and he’s just turned 70!  I’ve certainly heard of quince jelly, it’s one of those old-fashioned preserves people like Miss Marple used to have with their afternoon tea 🙂

What a pretty bloom, Ruth. I never knew that’s how quince blossoms look. Beautiful! 😉 xoM
