A-Z Challenge: I is for Independent Buildings

I is for Independent Buildings…

The little parade of shops in the very centre of the image is named ‘Independent Buildings’ according to the pale green lettering on the clock tower. Apparently (according to my good friend Google) it was built in 1934 for the local Independent newspaper 🙂

This year for my Blogging from A-Z Challenge I’ve decided to keep it super-simple, and stick close to home with a straightforward agenda. I tend to post lots of local London images anyway, so my aim is to post at least one new (as in taken recently, and not posted before) photograph each day, taking us on a whistle-stop A-Z tour of Local Leytonstone Life; simple snapshot images of ordinary everyday things around me that capture my attention, yet don’t take me out of my daily routine too much…

I’ve been to London twice in my lifetime and I was not over impressed ( it was in January and very cold). But your photos have shown me how interesting it can be.

I’ve no desire ever to go again but appreciate everything through your camera lens. The colours and the atmosphere come to life and I can see the attraction. 🌹

They look quite independent in a very communal way, Ruth. I like the juxtaposition! 😉 xoxoM

I love what you’re doing here! The subjects are very interesting to me, and it’s great you’re keeping the circle small and close to your home.

Thank you! Everything I’ve photographed is no more than 10-15 minutes walk from our flat, in various different directions – some subjects are perhaps more interesting than others, but the challenge of following the alphabet in order day after day makes it all part of the fun 🙂
