Hipsters were all the rage here in London not too long ago, it was a growing trendy lifestyle choice that for a while everyone who was everyone wanted to be associated with. Boys wore huge beards and checked lumberjack shirts – but I have absolutely no idea what hipster girls wore!
And I’m unclear exactly as to what made a hipster be hip, either, except that it was supposed to be an outside-of-the-cultural-mainstream kind of trendiness. But of course as soon as it became trendy, and mainstream, it stopped being hip to be a hipster.
All I know for sure is, thankfully I’m far too old to be worried about trendy labels – old-fashioned ‘middle-aged’ simply suits me fine 🙂
