Oregon Grape (Mahonia Aquifolium)

blue-grey-berries

I loved the tiny matt-surfaced blue-grey berries on this plant, so looked it up once I got home – apparently it’s an Oregon Grape (Mahonia Aquifolium) 🙂

Beautiful photo, Ruth. Loved the multi-colors of the leaves surrounding the grapes. Reminds me of Fall. ❤

My husband remembers those fans from his childhood in rural Louisiana – the plant is a shrub rather than a vine and the berries are really tiny, so probably not edible…

That’s interesting! Next time I’m in Naples I get some photos of the sea grapes with the huge leaves. I doubt their grapes 🍇 aren’t edible either!
