Sunday Signs: The George

The-George1The-George2

Perhaps not the most exciting of Sunday Signs posts for this week, especially as it’s Monday again before I’ve got round to writing it, but The George is actually the pub where I work. It was originally built in 1904, and the exterior hasn’t changed much over the last century although it’s had several changes of hands and internal refits along the way.

I guess in many ways it’s a typical traditional British Public House, serving a varied selection of real ales that are still hand-pumped up from the cellar in the traditional way as well as all the more modern lagers and bottled craft beers, ciders, wines, spirits and all other alcoholic beverages. And nowadays of course there is always a variety of soft drinks and hot drinks on the menu along with the usual pub food 🙂

Sunday Signs: Please Leave Quietly

Please-leave-quietly

So many drinking establishments have similar signs to this one, requesting that patrons please leave quietly at the end of an evening – not that the said patrons ever take a blind bit of notice, as after a few drinks everyone’s vocal volume seems to be permanantly set to LOUD 🙂
